My maternal aunt and uncle had a cottage on Lake Superior and I remember visiting them when I was maybe 12 but we didn’t do any fishing. My father usually went fishing alone, out on the Willow River. He took me with him once and we walked up-and-downstream for what seemed such a long time. He had no luck. I cast my line once and caught a small trout. He never took me fishing again.
It was on the western side of the lake, the Minnesota side, close to some national forest type of land. It was something-harbor and at the time there were few cottages there.
maybe Two Harbors north of Duluth? i need to explore over that way but its hard enough plowing into the Keweenaw to north let alone over towards the Porcupines on Wisconsin border 🤒
